Universal Dance provides professional dance teacher training and certification for aspiring and experienced educators. A blended class covering commercial, freestyle and lyrical styles — built to grow technique, musicality and stage confidence, from our youngest dancers right through to our Elite performers.

About UltraFlex
Nearly 30 years of helping young people grow through dance.
Kim Somers is the Founder and Director of UltraFlex Dance Academy and has almost 30 years of experience within the dance industry. Since opening her first dance school in 1997, she has dedicated her career to developing dancers, supporting teachers and creating opportunities for young people to grow through dance. Today, she operates dance schools across Galway and Cork, delivering structured, multi-style dance education programmes for children and young people.
In recognition of her contribution to the industry, Kim was awarded the All-Star Business Award in 2019 and, in 2025, received the Dance School of the Year Award at the All-Ireland Dance Awards.

Good to know before you book.
We welcome dancers from age 3 right through to teens, with classes grouped by age and ability so every child is dancing at the right level — including our Elite level for our most experienced dancers.
Yes — new dancers are welcome to book a trial class before committing to a term. Head to our Book a Trial page to find a class near you.
Dance Combo blends commercial, freestyle and lyrical styles, while Acro Dance fuses dance technique with acrobatic skill. Many dancers enjoy both programmes alongside each other.
Yes — uniform requirements vary slightly by programme and are listed on each class page, along with where to purchase them.
